Honoring the Wampanoag Tribe
At the NMR Meditation Garden in Raynham, we hold deep respect for the history and spirit of the land we occupy — land once home to the Wampanoag people, the original stewards of this region.
Our NMR Meditation Garden, lovingly tended by Monk Benny, was created and dedicated to the Wampanoag Tribe as a space of peace, reflection, and gratitude. Through his ongoing care and meditation practice, Monk Benny has made this garden a living tribute to the tribe’s enduring legacy and connection to nature.
This coming spring, we are taking our commitment one step further:We plan to build a traditional Weto (Wampanoag house) within the Garden — a symbol of respect, remembrance, and unity between cultures.
Our Goal
To make this vision a reality, we are seeking to raise $3,000.Funds will go toward:
Sustainable materials and tools for Weto construction
Educational signage sharing the history of the Wampanoag tribe
Community participation and cultural collaboration
How You Can Help
Your contribution will help us honor the Wampanoag ancestors, support cultural education, and preserve the story of the people who first called this land home.
Every donation, regardless of its size, brings us closer to our goal of creating this sacred space of remembrance and harmony.
