Our Meditation Teacher and Spiritual Advisor
Our Meditation Teacher and Spiritual Advisor, Boonyod Nonthong (“Benny”), is a former Theravāda Buddhist monk and mindfulness teacher with more than 20 years of experience in Buddhist practice, meditation, and contemplative education.
His teaching is rooted in the Theravāda Buddhist tradition and emphasizes mindfulness, compassion, emotional resilience, and wisdom in a practical and accessible way.

Roots of Stillness: Community Wellness and Cultural Education Workshops is a community wellness and cultural education initiative focused on mindfulness, meditation, wellness, compassion, cultural learning, and community connection.
Through workshops and community gatherings, the program supports personal reflection, stress reduction, cultural understanding, accessible wellness education, and meaningful community connection for individuals and families.

The Supporting Monks with Cancer at Wat Pa Makham, Thailand initiative reflects the Trust’s commitment to compassion, care, and support for Buddhist monastics facing serious illness.
Through this charitable support effort, Sanes Bodhi Trust helps bring attention, encouragement, and donor support to monks receiving care at Wat Pa Makham in Thailand.
This initiative is rooted in the Buddhist values of compassion, generosity, respect for monastic life, and care for those experiencing illness and vulnerability.
Compassionate End-of-Life Support: Last Home Project Burial Shroud Donation
The Compassionate End-of-Life Support: Last Home Project Burial Shroud Donation supports the planned donation of 150 burial shrouds to the Last Home Project at Wat Rat Prakhongtham in Nonthaburi, Thailand.
Wat Rat Prakhongtham provides funeral and cremation assistance to individuals and families who cannot afford the costs of end-of-life care.
Through the generosity of donors, the temple helps ensure that every person, regardless of financial circumstances, is treated with dignity, compassion, and respect at the end of life.
This initiative reflects the Buddhist values of compassion, generosity, human dignity, and care for those in vulnerable circumstances.

Founder’s Message
The Sanes Bodhi Trust was founded out of a heartfelt desire to help others find clarity, peace, compassion, and inner purpose.
Through our work, we strive to uplift, guide, and inspire meaningful spiritual growth while supporting programs and service efforts rooted in Buddhist values, mindfulness, compassion, wisdom, human dignity, and community care.

Founder Background
Jose Antonio Sanes is the Founder and Executive Director of Sanes Bodhi Trust for Spiritual Education, Inc.
He is a longtime Buddhist practitioner whose spiritual path includes regular practice at Wat Nawamintararachutis – NMR Meditation Center in Raynham, Massachusetts, where he continues to participate in meditation, Buddhist practice, and temple community life.
Jose was also ordained as a Buddhist monk for a period of time at Wat Nawamintararachutis. This experience deepened his commitment to mindfulness, compassion, humility, spiritual discipline, and Buddhist service.
His spiritual education includes meditation retreats and Buddhist practice in Thailand, including retreats at Wat Panyanantaram in Pathum Thani, Thailand, and the Buddhamahametta Foundation in Thailand.
Jose is currently continuing his meditation and contemplative education through Brown University’s Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program.
In addition to his spiritual and nonprofit work, Jose brings a professional background in leadership, technology, communication, training, strategic partnerships, and service. His professional experience includes more than 17 years at Apple Inc., where he served as Area Sales Manager – US Channel Sales, supporting channel sales initiatives, partner relationships, training, performance development, and cross-functional collaboration.
Jose is also the Founder and CEO of Snazzy Jahzzie LLC, a multi-channel e-commerce brand focused on fashion accessories, wellness products, meditation bracelets, and mindfulness-inspired lifestyle goods.
His background also includes ongoing professional development in nonprofit technology, artificial intelligence, digital marketing, media planning, brand development, and community outreach.
These experiences help inform his work through Sanes Bodhi Trust for Spiritual Education, Inc., including Buddhist education, mindfulness programs, community wellness initiatives, charitable support projects, donor outreach, program development, and compassion-based service.
